Williamsburg Man Wins $3 Million Settlement Against NYC

ch2.jpgThe NY Post reports: A 58-year-old Hasidic man hit by a Parks Department pickup truck as he walked to his Brooklyn synagogue has won a $3 million settlement from the city. Meyer Jacobowitz, a father of seven, was waiting on the sidewalk at Bedford Avenue and Williamsburg Street East when he was hit on March 25, 2006.

An NYPD tow truck and the pickup collided there, said Jacobowitz’s lawyer, Herbert Subin. The tow truck hit the pickup, which lost control and struck Jacobowitz.

Jacobowitz suffered facial fractures, a fractured shoulder and other injuries, Subin said.
