Border police were compelled to fire in the air, warning shots, bringing an Arab car thief to a halt at Kalandia Checkpoint on Jerusalem’s northern border. The vehicle was stolen at gunpoint earlier from an Israeli taxi driver by a number of Arabs.
After firing a warning shot in the air, the thief stopped and fled, abandoning the vehicle.
