50th Chabad Shluchim Convention in Eretz Yisrael

November 8, 2009

rebbe.jpgMany Chabad chassidim were on hand motzei shabbos, sponsored by Tzeirei Chabad under the leadership of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Aaronoff. The dais was adorned by many prominent Chabad rabbonim. This year’s event had special significance since it is 5′770′.

Opening the event is veteran Chabad emcee, Rav Naftali HaCohen Roth, followed by many speakers including Rabbis Yehuda Yoseslovsky, Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, Eliezer Brod, Sholom Ber Butman, Nachum Kaplan, and Yosef Bagad.

Rav Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi Shlita, the rav of Kfar Chabad, reflected back to the establishment of Torah Tmimim, speaking of the need to act as a personal example to all, especially the children.

Later this week, Chabad shluchim from around the world will be arriving in Brooklyn, Crown Heights to be more exact, for the annual international kenos shluchim.

  2. There is absolutely no significance in the number 770 its pathetic that people believe that a building of brick & mortar & the number assigned to it by the city of new york before chabad even purchased it holds any significance over any other building used for tfillo. Also this business of replicating a “brooklyn style apartment building” in other cities and countries and calling it 770 borders on pure insanity. But what else can you expect from people who believe a dead man is alive??? Since their Rebbe left them or concealed himself from them its been the blind leading the blind. H-shem Yirachem.

I consider myself to be a Chabadnik. I do NOT believe that the Rebbe z”l is still alive. I attended his levaya.
The Rebbe WAS the tzaddik of HIS geneeration, but like all of us he has passed on and a new genertion has arisen. As a member of this generation, I believe he left much for us to learn as have the other gedolim of the past.
