Israel Has What it Takes to Strike Iran

Addressing a conference at the Fisher Institute for Air & Space Strategic Studies, Vice Premier Moshe Ya’alon, a former IDF chief of staff, stated the same technology used to combat terrorists in Gaza by the Israel Air Force may be extended to strike Iran if need be. He explained that over the years, the IAF’s capabilities have improved, citing the technological, logistical, mid-air fueling capabilities, as well as intelligence and accuracy.

As Iran continues to orchestrate major military exercises, seeking to send a message of defiance and superiority to the international community, particularly the United States and Israel, Ya’alon stated if the decision is made that such an assault in warranted, the IAF can handle the mission.

The former military chief said it plain and simple, “As far as I am concerned, the best defense is offense”, indicating he would not hesitate should the experts feel such a move is warranted as Iran approaches the point of nuclear no-return.

  1. Blah Blah baloney. Lately Iran has been putting Billions of $$$$ into armaments of all types and upgrading all of their weapons systems. This is not the Iran of 2006 or 2007. Israel BETTER NOT underestimate Irans capabilities or their military strike will be a disaster of epic proportions.

  2. Not too long ago, Israel was prepared to be able to threaten sufficient damage that it could deter an attack by the Soviet Union (for you kids, that was sort of like today’s Russia but bigger and a lot nastier). So how is it a hiddush that Israel has the capacity to strike Iran?

  3. A lot of sabre rattling on both sides. However, Iran is more rattle than reality compared to Israel. The former may be putting “Billions (more like a tenth of that) of $$$$ into armaments”, but they are generally wildly unsuccessful in their endeavors.

And, if Israel decides it will attack Iran, it won’t be with planes and bombs.

  4. UIran is developing anti missle systems as well as it’s own advanced fighter jets and it’s own unmanned drones.

Unless Israel can counter the most advanced versions of such things, they are not ready to take on Iran.

Unless Israel knows for an absolute “written in stone” fact that Iran is bluffing they had better not just “assume” they are.

Even if Iran is bluffing about one piece of technology (and I do not know that they are), they might not be bluffing about others.
