Anti-Toeiva Protesters: Sick Perverts – Get Out Of Jerusalem

(Thursday, July 29th, 2010)

Anti-Toeiva protesters gathered Thursday next to several hundred Toeiva activists preparing to march in the eighth annual Jerusalem Shame parade, calling them to “get out of Jerusalem.”

The protesters, led by extreme rightist activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben Gvir, hoisted banners reading “sick perverts – get out of Jerusalem.”

“It is a disease of choice, and a man can change his taste and his ways,” Marzel said, adding “when someone has AIDS they tell them not to infect others, so why are these people allowed to march here in Jerusalem and infect us with their disease?”

Meanwhile, rightists from the United Torah Judaism party organized a “donkeys’ parade,” expected to gather outside the Supreme Court, under the banner “the marchers who do what beasts do.”

This post is an embarrassment. Yes, the Torah calls homosexuality a toeiva, but do we need to call them “donkeys”, and accuse them of “infecting us with their disease?” Is this how to give tochecha?

    Daniel Shain:

Tochacha can only be given to those who will listen. I don’t think any of these clowns will listen if you walk up to them and say, “its against halacha to be gay”.

I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE ENLISTED THE SUPPORT OF THE ARABS ON THIS ONE.
(THIS IS THE ONE TIME WE COULD THOSE CRAZIES WHO GO TO IRAN)

Paskanit #1 and #6 you got your halacha from the toeiva gay bum? In general, that’s what tochacha means, however, under certain circumstances, you not only should be mochiach b’rabim but you MUST be mochiach b’rabim! these people are being mechallel shem shomayim borabim!!! go ask your dayan and post back that you were wrong for slandering the people doing it sincerely.

Are these people even Jewish? Why are we so worried about giving them Tochacha?

Rachmana Letzlan, it is probably true that the people involved in the march will not listen to tochacha. There is still a reason for protest. The very air we breathe is poluted by their ideas about this issue. If someone just mentions that maybe there is something wrong with acting out on this compulsion they are considered low and mean and evil. We and our children can be affected by this if we do nothing. We need to protest in a very strong way to protect ourselves and our society from this corruption. If we do nothing about this in our own holy city, we are giving tacit approval to this behavior chas vesholom.

Who said they were “EXTREME” rightist activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben Gvir”. Aren’t those homophiles extreme? Let them demonstrate in Provincetown, MA or San Francisco!!

    Hashem yishmor.

  10. Daniel Shain says:

I agree that tochecha is required. But the halacha does not require that we do it in a foolish and immature manner.
