I think I saw in Reb Tzaddok Hacohen that you can tell where a person is holding by seeing what he does to calm or cheer himself.

In my books a vort is only a nice vort if there is a solid idea behind it. Ich bin nisht nispoel fun shalsheedis toyres. :) It was very good.

I guess you could say "I saw online." It's about as specific as "shtayt in seforim"

..Another one of those..

It seems like people today are very excited. Excited about many things. Beauty, shidduchim, nail polish color etc. Let me share with our esteemed council a thought of Rabbi Miller. The gist of it is that one may tell a person by what he praises.

Actually Hallel, he says, is the root of Holelus, wildness. It's meaning is wildly praising (going crazy over..) That is what a Yid does by Hallel we praise HaShem enthusiastically. Egyptians, on the other hand, were excited by something entirely different. - ויהללו אתה אל פרעה, a woman comes in to town bearing beauty, everyone gets excited about it. איש לפי מהללו everyone according to what he praises.

ps if our chosheve members don't want this anymore (I'll feel offended, but) I'll stop. (just kidding)
