these days I'd bid $60. $35 was very cheap, even then.

adorable: You are a sweetheart. However, with all of the chazaraye I will be shlepping - and probably at odd hours, I am best off in a hotel. Particularly since I usually get up at about 4:00 AM. I make a lousy house guest. I appreciate the offer.

ronsr: That is probably what I shall do - use Expedia or Priceline. I also check the "guest recommendations" which has already ruled out a couple. One hotel is right beside a prison. As it is now 10 years since you stayed in Newark, I think a 35.00 hotel room is a pleasant and distant memory. Thanks.

when I stayed at Newark airport a few times a few years ago I bid for hotels on priceline.com - most of the airport hotels are ok - american standard hotel rooms, all with shuttles to the airport. The price of the rooms in 2002 was about $35 for my winning bid.

B'H' I am taking my first trip to Eretz Yisroel in March. The tour leaves from Newark and will have to spend at least one night going and one night coming back close to the Newark airport. Can you please give me a recommendation for a comfortable, clean and safe hotel that won't break my budget? I do not need or want a five star place - somewhere in 100 dollar or less range is fine.
