Does age bring wisdom and can one assume that older is generally wiser?

    yes and no

Yes that they have life experience

    However

Older people can get jaded meaning they might not be open to new ideas especially when they are nessasary.

Even if a particular person becomes wiser as they get older, different people start at different places, and so even if Joe at 50 is wiser than Joe 40, he still might be less wise than Yosef at 30. For this reason, I think it’s unreasonable to assume that an older person is wiser than a younger person, since the variation in wisdom among people is so broad.

“Some aspects of age-related cognitive decline begin in healthy educated adults when they are in their 20s and 30s.”

It depends on the person. Some people become ????? (experienced and wise) as they age.

Others become ????? (sleepy, lethargic, unaware).

    (Based on ?? ????? ???? ????)

According to Pirkei Avos, “Arbaim l’binah”.

I noticed a surge in wisdom at the age of 38. I was assuming that it has to do with the fact that it only takes women 12/13 of the time to get to Bas/Bar Mitzvah, so proportionately it works out about the same (assuming that the surge in wisdom didn’t happen on my birthday).

I have also noticed a fairly steady increase in wisdom ever since. I think it’s connected to life experience.

But some of it could have to do with a person’s particular life experience and what he/she happens to go through at different stages.

We must stand for a 70-year-old gentile.
