No words can describe how angry I feel. All of this pain and suffering because of a nerve injury.

Its ruined my life path… I am stuck switching schools. I need speech therapy and I have been discriminated in the job market as a result. Since I have to switch schools people don’t want to hire me. I am frustrated. I am tired of everything being up in the air because I can’t drive. It takes me three hours to get to school.

    Life is like photography.

You use the negatives to develop.

Thanks. I mean the only area it affected was my speech. But it still has a significant impact. And on top of that I have to miss class in a few weeks for an appointment. Specialists can be frustrating. The only way to recover is to see a speech therapist. Its just so nervewrecking though.

Look, if someone wont hire you just cuz you have a lisp or can’t say ____ letter right, then that is not someone worth working for.

You, know. I recently learned a very helpful and practically helpful tool in helping myself with depressive emotionas and ANGER.

I thought of them as children. We wouldn’t judge or penalize a child for being what he is. His nature. Its not wrong to have a nature or a feeling. Emotions are just emotions. THey are not bad, or wrong or render us inferior. They are just emotions that come upon us. What we DO With them Determines other causes. However, if you had anger as a baby on your left hip, and were holding sad pity on your right, under both arms, as it were, all day long, you would be weighed down by them if you were to mentally judge them and loathe their implications on you. Rather you’d find them joyous delight (maybe almost) in comparision if you simply accepted their presence, and tuned in. Stop beating yourself up for feeling a certain way. They are trying to speak to you. Go do a lay down meditation body scan and ask “what do you need, what are you trying to tell me”?

I did this recently and it really was amazing. First thing was the soreness bubbled up with puss from my spirit like an oozing blister, in other words i became worse for a few hours, but then i relaxed realizing it was running its course. THere are layers to the onion of peeling back the realizations but its a start.

“Never say sorry for feeling something, its like saying “sorry I have feelings””

My heart goes out to you. I was once told by the Rabbi that a Jew cannot be angry. I understand. That is noble. But there have been times in my life that I turned anger into a drive to succeed.

On top of all of it I just sit here crying… I feel depressed and angry and there is literally nowhere to turn to and someone is trying to shut down all of my resources.

Vogue, no parents, siblings, friends to turn to for comfort and support? Anyway, notwithstanding other posts, it’s perfectly okay to be angry. Sometimes, it’s anger that pulls you through when faith and prayer don’t seem to work. Get angry, stay angry and show that “someone” that nothing and no one is going to shut you down.

Take all your tears and cries and direct them towards HaShem, this, sweetie is your test. And if you cannot do anything about your situation, Hashem wants your cries!!!!

    You can always vent here!!!!

Ive been that before, and things WILL get better! They always do!

    Davening for you!!!!!

Moshe Rabbeinu had that problem, too, and look what HE became! I feel sad for the pain I can read in your post, and am so sorry you are suffering. Refuah shelaima b’korov. Can you try a clinic, to find a speech therapist? Hopefully with time BE”H, you will be 100% again.

I am seeing a speech therapist. Its just that next semester I won’t be allowed to see my friends at all.

    #986953

AWWW!!!! That must be SO hard. But I still say, when people have a problem with my lisp “Thats the wqy HaShem made me, if YOU have a problem, complain to him not me!”

For sure, its also overwhelming. Lots going on, I do have a support system but its very hard when the challenges keep on getting bigger without any previous ones being resolved… and scandals.

    #986957

Thats Hashem saying “you passed that test, now here is a harder one”
