Apple is recalling all first generation ipod nanos due to some technical problem. If you fill out a form and send the ipod back to Apple, you will receive a new 6th generation ipod nano (the touch nano) for free!! So for all those who own a first generation nano take advantage of the opportunity!!!
If however you are not interested in replacing the ipod, I would be willing to purchase it from you. Thanks!

Crazybrit: Not really sure. Google "ipod nano 1st gen recall" and you will see all the details. Apple will ask you to supply a serial number to see if your ipod qualifies for a replacement. Hope this answers your question!

Apple hasn't committed to replace all units with 6th gen models. Once they have enough 1st gen units back they'll probably refurbish them and start sending them back.

moishy, i think you should google the recall and read what it says on apples site.
you can then check your serial number and if you qualify they will send you a mailing envelope. if they find it needs replacing when they have it in hand, they will send a replacement. perhaps there is a phone number to call
