Which is your favorite bakery in NY and what foods are they the most excellent in baking? And how is it better than the competition?
Pupa Tzelem Matzah Bakery. Matzah. I don’t want to say lashon hora (really, they’re all fine, but each has a different taste, and it’s a matter of preference).
I know of a baker who has a bakery somewhere in Brooklyn i cant think of the name of it but he makes really great heimish cakes his name is Bob, Bob Kuh.

I agree, Chiffon Ave P Cake Center is the best for cakes and other assorted pastries. For matzah, I like Chareidim best–thin, crisp and delicious.
Cafeccino bakery on West 231st Street in Kingsbridge, Bronx. Best pita outside of Israel.
Shlomie’s Bakery in Boro Park and 5 Towns is the best. They make the best dairy rugalech !!!!!!!!!! YUMMMMMMY !!!!!!!!!!!

Ostrovitsky’s (Avenue J) “Sour Cream Cheesecake”. I dont think they make it exactly like they used to though, but imho its still the best cheesecake anywhere, just it used to be even better.
Anyone know of a uniquely good (soft) cheesecake, elsewhere in Brooklyn?
This is slightly off topic, but few, if any, modern bakeries have stone/brick ovens for bread (too expensive, etc).
That’s the reason Rye or Corn bread with the crispy crust and soft interior – which I think is the best – is a thing of the past.
I miss it (sniff).
