    I’m looking into buying the bosch compact mixer to replace my 5qt kitchen aid artisan mixer which died on me last week, while kneading 3.5 lbs (which is 10 cups of high gluten flour and 2.5 cups of water) for my challah dough. Does anyone have and advice or opinions on this mixer? Is it worth it to buy, or is better to spend the extra $200 for the Bosch universal mixer instead?

    I dont know about the compact. i assume for challah you need the universal. I have a brand new one in box frm my daughters shower she wants to sell it .. you could get my info from the mods if you are intrested. it is currently in five towns but can be in Lakewood too if needed….

    rc, do you know what she is asking for the Bosch? If affordable (which so far it has not been), I can more easily get to the FT than to Lakewood.
