    Does anyone know of a kosher bakery in Flatbush where one can buy bread sliced horizontally (to make party sandwiches)? I’ve bought bread like this in the past, but I don’t remember from where. Thanks for any suggestions!

    I assume you can go in and ask them to slice bread horizontally…

    Right – that’s what I figured, & I tried, but it’s dependent on the machine they use – will the loaf of bread fit if it’s put in to slice horizontally. Seems that most machines can’t sccomodate something “out of the box”.

    get a whole loaf, freeze it until it is somewhat hard, but still easy to cut, then use a long serrated knife to slice it horizontally.
