Why does stupid have to be irritating? When someone makes an ignorant remark or asks a pointless question, is there a reason it is irritating instead of just…invisible? It’s not like your airspace is being depleted by the questioner and you aren’t being charged per letter. It’s not lack of patience because there is no patience required. It’s reflexive, but I just don’t see the connection.
Yes, something can be stupid without being annoying.
What’s more, stupid can also be entertaining.

I know some people who are really stupid. But I do not share my environment with them. They are somewhere else. Stupid – sure. But not annoying me at all.
