Hi,
We're making a chanuka party/camp reunion and we need ideas on how to keep the kids entertained. Its for kids from a Kiruv camp, all girls, mostly ages 10 -15, with a few older and a few younger. Preferrably a sit down game, something cute, fun and short, but most important something that will take up time and keep them entertained in a fun, jewish way!
any ideas?

Chanuka Games?

How about a game loosely modeled after a mix of Charades, Trivial Pursuit, and "What's My Line"?
The subjects/answers could be Chanuka based or expanded to other Yom Tov or Jewish historical facts.
A person would be awarded from 8 to 1 points for a correct answer, depending on how many hints were needed.
A winner would be declared after a contestant got 100 points.
The game can be "fixed" as it progresses to keep it competetive and interesting.
Prizes can be left to your imagination and budget.
Prep on your part would be preparing questions, clues, learning details about the chashmonoim (and their adversaries), coming up with good charades and so forth.Posted 3 years ago # -
“Mrs. Try” has a couple of ideas to make things more interesting, fun, random, and faster-moving:
-Wrap each present several times.
- Allow the person whose turn it is to select a difficulty level (let’s say 1 - 8)
- If the guesser gets the question right, they then roll a pair of dice.
- If the number on the dice is equal or less than the difficulty level, the person whose turn it is gets to unwrap one layer.
- (alternately, you can make the difficulty levels 1 – 3 and have them spin a dreidel)
- The unwrapper of the last layer wins.
- You can include a ticket for a grand prize drawing in any layer of the wrapping (or more than one layer, if you wish).Posted 3 years ago # -

I can only try,
we used to play that at birthday parties (without all the twists though). A good idea would also be to include small prizes in each layer such as erasers and sticker but I guess that wouldn't work for the 15-yr-oldsPosted 3 years ago # -
does anyone have an idea of a game for a party for an extended family? its a big mix of people so we need something not too personal but still made specifically for chanukah. HELP!

HELP! Another BY girl. Arghh - we are being overrun. Editor, would you consider making another website: BYWorld.com? It would bring us (soon to be) minority much relief.
