Is it “yosher”? Does it fall within the guidelines of “kedoshim tihyu” as defined by the Ramban? Does it satisfy the passuk “Vehyisem Nekiyim”?

It’s not stealing. But it’s not the most honest thing to do.

Is this about selling credit card points?

I personally think it is not yoshar, it depends on how Halacha defines mechack tous, the reason these credit card companies give these points is a insentive to open and spend with there credit card, not opening and closing cards, and calling up to get one time courtesies etc…..

You talking about opening one of these cc with few hundred dollars worth of sign up bonuses and then after getting them closing it? Cause credit card companies are fully aware of this and they know they will still make an insane profit from it.

I thought this was about the CC scam whereby you permitted someone (individual or business) to use your card and they will pay you back at a profit (and you get the points). There is a newly filed lawsuit regarding this.

It’s not fraud to open a credit card. You can have 12 cards. You shouldn’t lie about your income on the application.

@amil zola people on dans deals say they’ve gotten very badly screwed over by doing that. I heard If you try to get a 35k limit on amex, they will make you send them a copy of your tax returns. If you dont (or it doesnt match the income you told them) they will shut down all your accounts with them.

whitecar there was lots of talk on Ima mother about this over the years. Finally folks started admitting they had been taken advantage of and left with many thousands to repay the credit card companies. I don’t use my CCs much and really don’t pay attention to points, that’s not why I have them. That being said I still cannot fathom an adult permitting someone to use their CC.

If you have to ask, you know the answer is “no”.

    The question here isn’t clear.

Whitecar, I had an Amex for several years. I recently requested an increase and they gave me $40k and I wasn’t asked to submit anything
