If your with the right people, you don’t have arguments. Discussions can lead to clarity. Arguments are a futile waste of time, because nobody is willing or trying to accept anything from anybody else; the sole purpose is to present your opinion with as much force as possible. It generally ends in “you said… I said…” fighting and a general confusion of who was right and who was wrong. And, in many occasions, arguments escalate and ends up with personal insults, or at least hard feelings.

    No it isn’t.

    Yes it is.

    No it isn’t.

Machlokes L’SHEM SHAMAYIM can’t exactly be qualified as an “argument,” because it’s not personal- even if it looks like it’s personal.

Most arguments that people get into are personal. It’s not even about the subject at hand; it’s about “I’m right and you’re wrong; you need to respect me.”

😉 That’s where discussions differ from arguments. they’re not really personal, because they are about the topic at hand and not “I’m right, you’re wrong.”

So this is a discussion. Nothing personal:)

Arguments are more exciting. Plus you learn more about people when they feel there is more at stake in the argument

Arguments are the worst. Anyone who thinks otherwise is completely wrong.

    Let’s fight about it!
