I do it. Just take some raw eggs, and stick them into your cholent pot. Make sure the cholent is already hot when you put them in. I think they come out very good.

Yes they turn a shtickel brown but are very good. My sister does her eggs like that every week and her kids love it that way!

I like it very much that way however you can run into shailos. the major one being if you rinse the egg before peeling it then you can possibly be oiver on bishul if you dont do it right.

And I’m betting they just taste like eggs.

(Although we do hold that taam goes through eggshells. YD 86:5)

One of my daughters does it the Feif Un way

The other puts in hard boiled eggs

    Their mother does neither.

I could not tell the difference between the 3.

A word of caution! The first time you try it make sure to have some cold eggs. You can never know how the kids will react to the brown color, unless your kids are a rare breed who couldn’t care less

I have never tried liver mayonnaise and liquor, but the mixture sounds vile.

The chulent adds character to the flavor of the eggs. While others at the table are having their egg salad (or Eyer mit Tzibel) my sons and I are eating “chulent eggs.” When we are guests and the host asks us if there is anything in particular we like, we tell them chulent eggs.

I cook the eggs & peel them before putting it into the chulent because somebody explained to me once that the shells are really “dirty” even though they look clean and all the dirt gets cooked into the chulent- if somebody can explain more I’d appreciate it, although from then on I just peel it before it enters the pot.

If you put an egg in your cholent, and you find a chicken in the egg, your whole cholent will be treif unless you have 60 times its amount, which is unlikely.

Cute Story: We used to put the eggs in the cholent. And once we went to a egg farm (or something of that sort) with family friends who did it too and there were some brown eggs cuz a chicken with brown feathers was sitting on it, and one of the kids was like “oh look there’s a cholent egg.”

When my daughter was three she did not like choulent but she used to love choulent eggs so at least she has something warm to eat for shabbos lunch.

I think they are yummy! I make choulent in the crockpot so I first pour in some water then put in a crock pot liner bag (to help with clean up) then i put at least three eggs in the crock pot liner bag, then the other ingredients.
