Not sure if you are serious. Wifi is always free. Usually internet costs money unless one finds a magnanimous sponsor or figures out how to piggyback on someone else’s cost which would likely be theft.

Most publicly owned buildings-schools, town/city halls, libraries have FREE open WiFi.

Using that is not theft, it is provided for the public’s use through tax dollars.

Sitting in your car outside a Starbuck’s or McD’s to use their free WiFi intended for their customers would be theft.

CTLawyer, thanks for clarifying what I said with different words. Nothing like tax dollars to create magnanimity.

No oy you can’t get wifi on your computer unless you have internet on your computer.

If you do have Internet on your computer then you can buy a wireless router and you will then have free wifi in your house.

The library really is a good place. You can sit there as long as you want using the internet and no one will bother you. They also have computers, but you must sign up and wait your time, which is limited.

Be careful not to access sensitive web sites, such as bank accounts, utilizing free WIFI locations ( library , Starbucks ) . Free WIFI locations are also frequented by hackers looking to access your personal, sensitive information and sites . Free WIFI has no firewall protection against hackers

    Feivel…

You don’t need internet on your computer, you need a WiFi card built into your computer. There are computers that require connection to an outlet in the wall via an ethernet card. WiFi is a wireless connection.

WiFi is also used for Intranet connections-between computers in a home or business or to send documents to your printer wirelessly…all without accessing what we think of as the Internet.
