Before each yom tov I like to give a little gift to my spouse. Sometimes bigger and sometimes smaller (depending on the financial status, ofcourse)I need some new ideas????

Is the receipient in this case the husband or the wife?

I would imagine the recipient is the husband- I dont think Hello Kitty is a male:) So maybe a nice tie or cufflink.

Not sure what your budget is. There is a new "yom tov" cookbook that's out, its about fifteen dollars. A nice piece of costume jewelry for 25-50 dollars. A new machzor. If she doesn't have one regularly a cleaning lady a couple of days before and/or after yom tov. Lots of possibilities. You know what your spouse would appreciate most.

    Smartness runs in my family.

That is absolutely so thoughtful and wonderful chinuch for your children as well. If the cleaning lady already exists a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure or a massage is also extremely appreciated around yom tov. A beautiful scarf or pocket book is also a great gift. This is not her birthday or Anniversary so anything you choose will be appreciated even if it is not jewelry because of the thoughtfulness behind it.

Incorrigible; semi-retarded; eccentric; perhaps a man; somewhere between mean and average; sometimes only a bit over the top; arbitrarily cynical.

A cleaning lady on yom tov to do the dishes.

(Hmmm. Or a husband on yom tov to do the dishes)
