February 26, 2015 2:39 am at 2:39 am #1062587☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow about fresh bagels?
February 26, 2015 2:42 am at 2:42 am #1062588JosephParticipantDY: You need two items. Add in a small bottle of Kedem grape juice.
February 26, 2015 2:59 am at 2:59 am #1062589☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhat I want to do is give everyone two cookies, one with a picture of Zev Farber on it, and one with a picture of Shmuly Yanklowitz on it. They’re both cookies, but it’s still two minim.

Our good idea for this year? We’re only giving two.

February 26, 2015 2:23 pm at 2:23 pm #1062592ubiquitinParticipantLior bagels (plural) are two items. You dont need to berachos or even two minim (though lol DY) You need to manos = portions. Assuming a bagel is a portion, two bagels is a perfectly valid shaloch manos. See Mechaber 695:4 where he identifies “shtei manos basar” as a kosher Shalach manos.
That being said, as discussed in the kezayis thread, generally we dont try to fulfil mitzvos to the bare minimum, as the mechaber explictly says in this case “vechal hamrbeh lishloach lerei’eim harei ze meshubach”

The ????, according to them, is talking about two types of ??? with different ?????.

March 2, 2015 3:15 am at 3:15 am #1062597from Long IslandParticipantI always give something that can be served at the seuda. Fortunately/unfortunately, I have been roped into giving the same thing year after year (when I tried something different I got phone calls !!)
I make vegetarian liver, with a bag of veggies to dip, and a selection of crackers & a fruit.
March 2, 2015 3:39 am at 3:39 am #1062598nishtdayngesheftParticipantI like the two minim cookies.
