    You can’t.

If you see that he hates your guts and doesn’t want to help you or make a one time exception for you FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR means he doesn’t just hate you but all Jews and that’s anti semitsm

If he/she calls you a baby-killer, that’s probably a good sign that he/she is antisemitic.

Which college (at least, what type – private, public, top 100)?

They can be terminated if they are found to be discriminating against anyone based on religion. Talk to either a student adviser or an attorney.

When I was in college, I took a class on like ethics or something, and the teacher called on me and asked, “if someone offered you 30 pieces of silver but you would have to betray your teacher who was also the son of god, what would you do”.

Do you think that teacher was antisemitic?

One time, when I was in college, I went on ywn and called you all bloodsuckers. http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/why-im-never-giving-blood-again-by-popa

Am I an antisemite? Are you?

If you dont get an A in the course and a 100 on every test it is because he/she is antisemitic

Do you have a specific reason to believe that the teacher IS anti-Semitic? If not, you have to assume that they aren’t anti-Semitic, unless and until they do something specific that makes you think that they are.

There are plenty of non-anti-Semitic reasons to call someone a baby killer, e.g., seeing them kill a baby.

Does he give you a hard time if you take off for yom tov (for example, Sukkos/ Shemini Atzeres/ Simchas Torah)?

    Which college?

You can go on ratemyprofessors. It won’t tell you if he is anti-Semitic, but it will tell you how other students feel about that professor. Also, you can google the professor’s name and find out some information about him or her.

A professor might be anti-relgious or Pro-Palesnian, but that doesnt nessasarily make them an Anti-Semite. Someone Anti-religous might also be against the Church (and ALL religions) and someone Pro-Palestinian might also support other similar groups like western Sahara or the Tibetians.

If you cannot tell whether a teacher is anti-Semitic, why does it matter?

If a professor constantly mentions jewish landlords, Jewish Bankers and Hollywood and killers of the Savior, then I would worry

What if it’s a class about antiSemitism?

To paraphrase from the Satmar Rebbe, Reb Yoelish,

If he/she is not a frum Jew and says that he/she is “only” anti-Zionist, then you know that professor is an anti-Semite.

nishtdayngesheft – that is correct. they want to try making them seem like their okay with you but they really hate you.

Re sparkly’s first response to nightdaygesheft: teacher is anti-Semitic if he/she deducts more than half a grade for using “their” when you mean “they’re”. But the teacher is not anti-Semitic if he/she also deducts half a grade for using a contraction in formal writing.

While they can be terminated if they are found to be discriminating against anyone based on religion but unless you substantiate the claim, which means that he is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, you will flunk the course and probably have to leave the college. It’s a big risk but the choice is yours.

Professors are there to teach not to cater to individual student’s whims. He may not have the time to help you. How did you ask him? He may have an assistant who can help you. Likewise there is a Dean of Students who is better able to help you in these types of situations. Making false accusation will anger the administration, ruin your reputation, make your college experience that much more difficult and less enjoyable.

You know. Its usually subtle but unmistakable. If it feels wrong it probably is. Either deal(what i chose) or approach your dean of students.

@ Meno: He mentioned in another thread that he’s in elementary school.
