Would you be the rabbi there if the jewish community paid you that much, F.Y.I to them $100,000 is worth $1.

Malbim, I don’t mean to sound mean or anything like that, but are you trying to get everyone to move to austin? You started 3 threads about it!

and that doesn’t include the deleted ones

No, I wouldn’t be a rabbi for that money. Being a rabbi is a horrible thankless job.

Charlie: that is actually a very high salary for an orthodox rabbi.

Rabbis of large Shuls like the White shul do get six figures, but dont count your money yet. those jobs rarely open and are hard to get when they do open

Malbim, if the previous Rabbi made $500,000 and the Rabbi now is making $100,000, does that mean the next Rabbi will be making $25,000? Also, if the previous Rabbi was getting $500,000, why did he leave?

He left because that rabbi found a position paying $1,000,000.

Zahavasdad, in Austin,Tx the rabbi position is open and it pays $100,000. That is why I am mentioning this thread.

    dial427436, you are wrong.

I’m sorry but this is just creepy. Do you really think you are going to convince anyone to move to your community by repeating ad nauseum “just check out Austin, TX” and refusing to answer serious practical questions about the community? Do you really think that the rabbi’s salary is a major selling point of the community? Do you really think that anyone would want to uproot their family just because of some random stuff online?

Leave it alone. We get the point already.

I noticed, malbim is a very amusing poster. It’s like when a little kid argues, “you’re wrong, no you’re wrong”, end of argument lol

Malbim, To Be or Not To Be means to express that a change of usernames does not make people like you more.

If $100,000 is worth a dollar to them, it means a salary of $1 a year. No thanks.

Plus, come on! Like, who has ever only bought “one thing” at a dollar store?

Maybe you tell yourself that, but the reality is that besides that one time when you bought only one pack of 9×12 envelopes, and nothing else, while paying in change (so much so that you ran back to your car to get more (mid-checkout)), one more item will lure you. Then what? You wait one more year to afford one shopping trip?

    Excellent point RebYidd23 🙂

He doesn’t tell you that the mikvah in Austin charges $100 per toivel…(and that doesn’t include a towel or the gratuity for the mikvah lady)….
