I am looking for information about the siyum hashas that was held in Bais Yaakov of Boro Park in 1968. The web isn't very helpful. I sthere anyone out there who attended that siyum, or knows someone who did? I would like to know who spoke, and anything that was distinctive about the event. Thanks for any leads.

I will be speaking to someone who was there today. I'll ask if I remember. Please try to find some way to remind me.

Gefen: The OP was hoping that, perhaps, someone from your generation might have some recollection of the event.

oooh! Them's are fighting words. So you're assuming I was around then?! What chutzpah! How do you know I wasn't born in the 70's?

Such a young whippersnapper? A '70'S baby?? Nahhhh, you know way too much. Was it the '50's?

    Color pictures would be useful.

I was around in '68, but too young to have known what was happening. I do remember '75 in the Midwestern community that I was living in at the time. Rav Dovid Lifschutz, the Suvalker Rav, came and spoke at that event.

Avhaben: hmmmmm. A compliment together with an insult. What? You thought maybe the insult wouldn't be noticed?

compliment- "you know way too much" - I take that to mean I am sooo smart. ;)

insult- "was it the 50's?" Hmph!!!! Thanks a bunch!! But ur WRONG. I guess I'll just have to keep you in suspense. Oh well!

Does anyone have anything substantial to offer? As in information about the siyum, which was the point of this original question....

I remember 1968 like yesterday. But I was so busy getting ready for the 1st landing on moon, the following year, that I forgot to go to the Siyum haShas.

I also was still too emotional from recapture of the Kossel 1 year earlier, to be able to concentrate on Yiddish speeches, so I didn't bother attending.
