   Dont you just love it this year? With the first day of counting ספירה falling on a Sunday, it is so easy to work out what day of ספירה it is. Today (sunday) was 4 weeks and ONE day. Monday is 4 weeks and TWO days. The days correspond with the day of the week, finishing each week on a שבת as the complete week.

   So the pasuk fits in exactly in the literal sense as we count 7 weeks, finishing each on a שבת, until the end of the 7th שבת we count 50 days...
   שבע שבתות תמימות תהיינה עד ממחרת השבת השביעית תספרו חמשים יום

   hasn't happend like this for 14 years. though, if we are still using the same fixed calendar, it will occur twice in row three years from now.

   This is incorrect, because Cheshvan and Kislev are not always malei or chaser. (Maybe Lo adu rosh is a consequence of lo bedu pesach.)

   it is correct. the interval between RH and pesach varies.
   the interval between pesach and RH can not vary. RH always comes out two days after pesach. IOTW pesach must come out two days BEFORE the FOLLOWING rh.
   The controlling rule though, is lo ado rosh, which indirectly controls many other things about the calendar.

   You can think of it your way if you like, but the calendar is always calculated by first figuring when RH must come out for this year and when it must come out for next year and working from there.

   You've been counting the wrong day the whole time. The full weeks are on sunday night (monday).

   it will occur twice in row three years from now. ... Please let me rephrase this:- It shall come 4 out of 5 years from 2015 thru 2019, like this year. ....... It is such a great Kevi'oh, because:- 1) Entire week from Shabbos haGodol to get ready for Pesach, and an entire week after Pesach [in Chutz lo'Oretz] to get set up for 1st Shabbos after Pesach. 2) Can relax Erev Shovu'os afternoon being a Shabbos before very tiring night up; 3) Tammuz 17 & Tisha b'Ov feel somewhat diffused in severity being Nidche. 4) Don't have to work Erev R.H. nor Erev Sukkos nor Hoshana Rabba, all being Sundays. 5) Short Tachnun on Taanis Esther Shacharis.

    רב יעקב עמדין gives a reason for the date of פסח שני:

    יד בו הוא יום טוב של דבריהם. וטעם פסח שני שהוקבע באייר גילו לי מן השמים לפי שבו כלתו חררה שהוציאו ממצרים... לפיכך עד כאן נמשך נס יציאת מצרים ואכילת מצה
    This is unlike either פשט in רשי as to when the מן began to fall. (The well known contradiction where in בשלח פרק טז פסוק א he says the food they brought with finished on the 15th of Iyar and the mon fell from the 16th, whereas in פרק טז פסוק לה he writes that it fell on the 15th)
