If you feel burning in the stomach its most probably not Crohn’s but you should still see a gastroenterologist to figure out what it is.

From what i know there is no 1 definite test to figure out if someone has crohns or not.

hello, jccsg.

my 4 year old son has hirschsprungs disease and i am wondering if my coming to the event would help me to know what i can and cant include in his diet, and other info. i know hirschsprungs is not crohns but he currently has a permanent ileostomy and i need all the info and support i can get. thank you

JCCSG whats so hard to understand? You dont seem knowledgeable in this area. There is more to Chrons then diets.

bh18 said that their son has a Ostomy and would like to know more about how to deal with it.

bh18 is right on target as many who have Chrons get a temporary iliostomy. Some people with Chrons get their temporary iliostomy after a resection surgery.

Thank you, right path! I’m glad I’m not forgotten about. I could use even more guidance now than before Ostomy was placed. My son is not eating over yom tov since he eats mostly white flour products and matzah is dangerous for him. If anyone has ideas please,help us. My son keeps saying how hungry he is and I resorted to giving him American cheese, the least of the worst of his food no-no’s. I will make him sephardic for pesach and try to give him small amounts of rice and my rav said I may and should up give him his soy products over pesach. I could still use ideas and advice and suggestions. thank you. Also, if anyone needs support or chizuk (or non-pesach) ideas or advice with hirchsprungs disease or with ileostomies or related, you may contact me through moderators.

bh18 – my 3 year old son has hirchsprungs disease and we are bh getting to know what is ok for him to eat.

bli ayin hara so far this yom tov he has been ok, he has had a little of both types of matzos, hand and machine baked, and we try and giving him vegetables to counteract the matzos, if the moderators allow it would be nice to speak with you about our experiences.

Newsreader, if you can find a copy of the last country yossi magazine (June 2012 Brooklyn ny) my sister wrote an article titled bathroom blessings. It’s about my son, his hirschsprungs disease, his permanent ileosotmy and mostly about the amazing chessed done for us all over. At the end of the article she wrote an email address we created for people to contact me for support and suggestions. We are currently in the planing stages of our next symposium,and we welcome your input and suggestions.

We have had numerous requests to arrange a women’s only educational event where many women’s issues affected by Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis can be freely discussed. We have been working during the past few weeks to make this happen and woulds appreciate your opinion and concerns regarding the topics to be addressed.
