I want to be a school psychologist, or maybe a child psychologist. Does anyone know what the job outlook is like for either of these two occupations in the Jewish velt (particularly America and Israel)? Do most school psychologists work in schools as opposed to private practice? Is it better to get a masters or a doctorate? Which schools are preferable in getting to where I want to get? Any help/advice is appreciated. As are internship offers. And babysitting jobs. And chocolate.

Unfortunately specifically in my community alot of school psychologists are not…..they don’t wven have a ba. …but if you would wanna help kids in school you should become a social worker

All school psychologists work from the school and get paid either by the city BOE or straight from the school itself. If you complete college on all levels of psychology then you can make a private practice for after school work hours and have private patients then. Obviously a private practice is better pay but some people enjoy working in a school atmosphere.

August 22, 2016 5:13 pm at 5:13 pm #1169903Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantSparkly, I don’t know if you saw my post on the other thread. I had mentioned a book written by a Modern Orthodox guy on the topic of college and you had asked me to get you the info. I copied and pasted my response here:
Sparkly and whoever else is interested: I just did a Google search and I found the book on Amazon.
I was going to post the link, but I think the moderators don’t let. The book is: “Brainwashed – how Universities indoctrinate America’s Youth” by Ben Shapiro. You can find it on Amazon.com
I never read it, but it looks interesting and like something that anyone attending or thinking of attending college should read.
