when discussing different issues on the CR, is all of what were saying really l’toeles? for example, (i know i am guilty of this too but) look all the sem threads that are going around, can we really say good/bad info on the sem on a public website? same idea with threads discussing businesses or different programs and organizations… its just something to think about. we should find out if what we say on here is halachicly permitted to say before we post.
I think a better question is why YWN doesn’t have clearly defined guidelines. And if they do, they should post them, because I am here with my Chofetz Chaim in hand, ready to show how many such threads are 100% assur.
Most definitely so. That’s why most of the time YW won’t allow posting names of subject. They do have s staff of diligent and vigilant workers who try to keep this place safe. Defining hints and revealing identities are generally deleted/edited. One may always request a certain revealing, damaging, lashon hara laden thread be deleted.
