    hi!

I’m looking for ideas of what to do with cooked mashed potatoes. Any recipes? thanks!

Omg my mom makes the BESTTTT mashed potatoes with cheese and broccoli!!!!!!!

K so boil red potatos…..mash them, mix it with butter (a lot of butter) till its creamy, put it in a pyrex, flatten the mashed potatoes, put broccoli on top (if the broccolis frozen, boil it first and then put it on top) make it a layer of broccoli and then put grated cheese over the broccoli (a lot of cheese, it tastes better)

It is soooo awesome ull LOVE it everyone gets the recipe from my mom!!

Another idea is to mix an egg in and form patties, then fry in oil. Sort of a lazy version of latkes. I served this to my little kids for lunch using some leftovers from the previous night & they liked it a lot. This will work for meat or dairy.

anon for this: a little twist to what you suggested is to coat the potato patties with bread crumbs and seasoning and then fry them.

Use them to make old-fashioned potato bread.

Use them as the “crust” for a meat pie.

Heres a great recipe for regular potatoes its really easy and delish

    Roasted potatoes

Wash off as many potatoes as you need. Slice them in half. Leave the skin on. Place potato down, skin up on baking pans. Pour some oil ontop of potatoes enough to cover. Sprinkle spices on top. I use onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt. Cook uncovered on 350 degrees for an hour. The skin gets crunchy while the inside is soft. Their delicious and no matter how many I make theres never enough!

Moderator-72, that’s an interesting idea too, and I might try it next time. I was too lazy to bother then & just served it with tuna salad & orange slices & called it lunch.

And asdfghjkl: grow up n don’t eat the broccoli!!!! 😛

(There big pieces of broccoli, not smashed broccoli)

    shepherd’s pie—

mix cooked ground beef, fried onions, and any veggies you want (corn, carrots, green beans, etc.) put in a pan, with mashed potatoes on top. bake for abut 1/2 hr on 350.

Pyrex is tempered glass that can be used in the oven (though generally not the broiler) & the microwave.

for garlic lovers..roast 1 or 2 heads of garlic in the oven. make mashed potatoes as usual…imho yukon gold potatoes are best. while you are mashing the potatoes add in as many roasted garlic pieces until it suits your taste. incorporate well and add some salt…no need for butter or margarine there’s enough oil being incorporated from the roasted head of garlic….as my son would say it’s…Yummalicious!!

anonymouse1079 – I am adding another twist (once again). you can sprinkle paprika on top of the potatoes.
