Would someone please explain to me why a website can get away with a simple disclaimer of
“NOTE: The views expressed here are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent or reflect the views of YWN.”
What do these disclaimers accomplish? Would you post an article by a Neo-Nazi talking about murdering Jews chas veshalom or by a KKK guy about lynching black people? I believe if you allow an opinion article on your website that means you think that whats in that article is true and conforms with your hashkafos and worldview. Otherwise you can just post anything and just say beneath it “Note….” So I am trying to understand what is accomplished with the disclaimer and why the website can post any article and not take “achrayis” by just tacking on a disclaimer?

This website is just a forum to obtain information, not shape one’s opinion. I hope someone doesn’t shape his/her opinion on what is written here on YWN.
