I think there's a bit of confusion here.
When "real israeli" said "gefen: check out the 2nd post on the AYC AYeCo thread", I think he meant the second post on the second page of that thread, namely this one:

There were two maasim. The first was a dispute with Mod 42. That caused AYC to take a voluntary leave of absence. You can't even trace that story now, because the apologies that eventually brought him back required changing and deleting some of the offending posts. That is what triggered the original "AYC: Ayeco" thread.
About 2 weeks after he returned there was a second misunderstanding, where the Mods saw something in one of AYC's posts that caused them to be concerned for improper behavior on his part. They locked him out for a couple of weeks until they confirmed that he was really OK. Since the Mods have reponed his account, he has not returned.
So yes, there were 2 maasim.

ICOT! Outstanding job.
I sympathize with AYC, as many do, and finally, as all do now, and can understand them going in another direction from this site, naturally.
But I hope they will consider what an opportunity is waiting for them to be mochel. They dont even have to post regularly again. Just a brief checking in to say hello and to give mechila would be huge.
Not easy at all, and it may take time, but it is theirs to grasp if they get to that point.
On the other hand, it may be no big deal to them and they just left because of the nonsense and they have no idea what the rest of us are saying.
Since the line between moderators and posters is not so defined, perhaps moderators can be intermediaries for those who want to send apologies to AYC's registered email address, privately.

This isn’t because we don’t want you back here – we very much do – but because at a certain point a repeated request can become annoying and even a caricature of itself.I am very sorry for the difficult time you had, which was not something you deserved.
