It's called French onion soup.
That, and croutons, are added. It's delicious.Posted 3 years ago # -
Do they change names by the day, or by the hour?

Ive often seen it on cooking shows with a large crouton on top of the soup with cheese on the crouton. French onion soup is also often served in individual crocks (crocks meaning a small pot not the footwear).

Of course. That is the original French Onion Soup. It is a pain to make. I have only ever eaten it at Simchos when they use puff pastry dough as the top instead of cheese.

Of course, it is THE way to serve it. Makes the soup into a whole meal. Yum!
