If you have peyos covering your ears during prayer, then the "Heavenly Ear" will not hear your tefillos. This is what i read in the cr on another thread. I could be wrong, though.

Does Torah mention how long peyos should be or how they should be held (in a front or behind the ears, strait or curly)?

Mik5: I am not familiar with any source that says that. Also, it makes very little sense. Certainly, it's not something to worry about unless you are concerned with obscure Kabbalistic Chumros (assuming a source actually exists).

I could see that if you have your ears covered, that YOU might not hear the "Heavenly Voice" telling you not to talk during davening or some other warning, but to imply that HASHEM kivyachol will not hear YOU at ANY time, much less when YOUR ears are covered, sounds a little off, IMO. Is this in a Gemarah anywhere?

I sometimes cover my ears (with my hands) during davening.
I guess that's just another sign that I'm an apikorus.
