I’ve seen many articles written by Rabbi Yair Hoffman, but I have never heard of him from anywhere else other than YWN. Does he really exist or is it just a pen name for someone or a group of people?

How can anyone rely on him if no one knows who he is?

He writes a weekly column for the Five Towns Jewish Times and I believe that’s where he lives

I believe he was a Rav in Long Island. He teaches in Yeshiva of Far Rockaway.

nope . hes just your imaginational Rabbi of someone else writing these letters with a make up name & nice mens face make up. Enjoy his entertaining questions while he lasts anonymously, before someone discovers what his real name is

He just called me to let me know I should pass this along – he does not exist.

This is a silly question. Yes, he really exist. On the bug video on YWN you can hear his voice and if you search him on YouTube you can watch him interview a politician.

I know its hard to believe, but people could exists outside of google. I don’t think DeCarte said “I am googled therefore I am”

He writes news articles and interviews people in the news, in addition to his interpretation of news events on how he perceives them to fit with his hashkafa. He’s also a high school rebbi at one of the local yeshivas in the Long Island area.

I think he’s brilliant. I love his halacha articles. He’s one of the few who has the courage to call out the hechsherim selling infested produce as kosher.

I e-mailed him a question one time and got a response, so I guess he does exist at least in cyberspace.

Yes, there is life outside of Brooklyn.

Rabbi Hoffman is learned, intelligent, and a good speaker (although I have rarely heard him speak in public). He also teaches and leads chesed projects at local schools.

He makes many weddings for poor indigent orphans, etc.
He could use donations for that very worthwhile project.
At the last count I’m aware of, he did 389 weddings already.
