aussie, you get a certain amount of rides depending on how far from the school you live. how many busses you need to take...
yes, hes buried in the showcase at the bakery. ;)
asdf was from Ireland in the beginning.
aussie: the metrocard is not unlimited! you get 2 rides there & 2 rides back for way home! so if someone else uses it, then on the way home, you may not be able to use it then!
Oh. Before my times i guess.
You ever had a pet dinosaur? Mine was a pterodactyle lol
kapusta: that's the way it was when i was in school, or maybe 3 & 3! why doesn't this girl have her own metrocard anyways, that she has to borrow yours?!
Jax, I'm surprised, you never gave the impression of being around for so long. Personally, I've been thinking about writing a column called "I remember when Arnold Fine was in diapers", but I don't know if Mishpacha will go for it.
squeak: i could help ya out with the column, i was in preschool with Arnold Fine! ;) ames will have a field day with this post of yours!
hey, kapusta, how are ya?

good, good. someone just sent me a whole long email that by the BY convention people openly admitted to knowing people they shouldnt. and they said they would reduce their hanging out to once a week/month... maybe theres some hope.
btw, would you...by any chance...be trying to avoid me on the shmooze thread? :)
you?
That's good to hear;)
no, not avoiding you, I tried talking to you last night but there were no mods and I don't like talking to no one so I went to sleep, sorry.
I'm good, thanx:}
Now that you're here: Being a mentor involves a one year commitment to spend one hour a week with your kid. The point is not to "straighten her out," or, "knock some sense into her head." The point is that the kid should have a strong, trusting relationship with a good role-model whom she will want to respect. Aside for spending time with your kid, every week you have to write a brief report and speak to a YES staff member. Hope this helps.

RQ: do i correct people's spelling or grammar?? where did kapusta get this idea from?
kapusta: it's ok, i just thought you had left so i wanted to know if someone else had an explanation :) thanks
kapusta?

if a post is dated 5 months is it from this year or last year?
aob-the coffee room hasnt been around for more then a year(a year sometime around now)
cnp: i didn't mean has it been a full year since it was posted, i meant is it from december 2008 or january 2009?
Hi, kapusta, did you read what I wrote about YES?
~a~
oh i have no clue?????? what post?
cnp: one that i wanted to nominate post of the year ;)
I thought I replied... must be early senility setting in...
It sounds good, question: how much time is involved? Do I have to meet them very often or is it like a normal relationship?
I think its gonna be best to let the idea rest at least for a few weeks. This is the best devised system to date. ;)
kapusta, I told you what's involved here:

o ok
kapusta, about the metrocard issue, in our school we were told that metrocards cannot be used on vacation. Say, on chol hamoed you decide to go somewhere via the MTA, even though the student card would work, it should not be used since the card is given to you so you can get to school and back. It would be considered stealing to use it for your own benefit. It would therefore seem wrong to me to lend it to your friend since technically the city does not allow it. And just btw, I believe you are given 3 rides a day (excluding transfers, obviously) on the card. At least that was the way it went in my days.
Hope this helped. Oh. And good luck handling your neighbor.
mepal, thanx. Thats what I though, but I feel funny saying no because technically no one is losing money, they're just not making any. You get 3 or 5 rides a day depending on how far you live from school. I dont think I will be handling my neighbor, I saw her and it really hurt me, she looked terrible physically, and she looked terrible in the way she was dressed. Something must be done. NOW.
ouch, it's really painful to see such a drastic change, I don't know what's going to be with these kids. They're everywhere!
kapusta, don't know where my post got lost, I did answer before.
about the mentoring: It all depends on your kid, but you will be coached by Project YES.

hey I've been looking for a post like this for a while! :)
do any of you know where i might be able to find a job as an EMT close by to a jewish community in the brooklyn (or brookline) area?
which one, yossi? Brooklyn or Brookline?
~a~
yossi z.: how about in Bedford Stuyvesant-not the best of neighborhoods, but they need lots of members & accept people pretty quickly unlike the ways some other places do the hiring! and you really really get great training there! cases are really interesting and you'll learn a lot from there! there's Senior Care & Transcare that do transport from nursing homes & places like that!?
Ask the hatzalah of flatbush if they know anything of the sort?? My guess
anonymisss, either
thanx jax
thanx shaatra, didn't think of that
i got another question.
anyone know where i can find a 000 hair cutting machine online?
yossi z.L try ebay!
don't have an account. i need someplace where i can use a credit card
thanx anyway
yossi z.: how about B&H's site?!
what is it? (the site address)
yossi z.: google b&h photo, mods don't like us posting site urls!
yossi z.: i just checked the b&h site, they don't sell it! sorry! try a gooogle search on that idem!
good point. i thought of that, checked it out, and i don't think b&h carries them. next? (i tried target and they don't say the size of the blade)
yossi z.: that's ganna be on short short haircut pal! ;) i'm out of ideas!
believe it or not a lot of chassidim get a zero or 00 as their "long" haircut (i tried that idea too but it drove me insane (not like i am not already thanx to you guys but whatever) :)
