is there a problem with a single girl wearing a ring on her left ring finger? i have always worn rings on my left hand because i'm a righty and rings on my right hand annoy me when i'm writing. i was speaking with a friend recently and she mentioned the left is for the wedding band. i always knew that but is there a problem if i wear a ring there when i'm single?

It might look weird but I don't know what problem that would be.

Nothing halachicly incorrect in this matter as far as I'm concerned.. It's just more or less become an accepted practice within the jewish relm as well as outside. As wearing a ring on the left is a symbol stating that your "taken". It sort of like forks on the left, knives on the right type of thing..

The index finger is the true placement for a wedding ring.

Sam2 what looks weird about it?
Personally if the goyim in my class think I'm taken I really could not care less and the frum people I don't think will care cuz it's a light blue stone.

I don't see the problem with wearing a ring on your left hand if you are single. Unless it looks like a diamond or a wedding band.

Cutlery is set according to which hand it will be used by.
