Am I too late?!?! Looks like I’m always late in posting. I guess that’s what I get for being YW’s newest member… anyway I’m obviously from Brooklyn and no I’m not 19. Just don’t tell my students that – they waste their lives trying to figure out my birthday and year… anyway… I’m kinda in denial so I’ll be brooklyn19 till I’m married. And then hopefully I’ll be “yerushalayim__”

Another interesting facet regarding posters here that I’ve noticed, is that the youngest posters come in two extremes. Either totally Torah-oriented, meaningful, from the heart, and indeed wisdom that reflects beyond their age; or followers of the shallow liberal/modern ideology picked up from the latest edition of the New York Times. (The older posters do seem to come in greater varieties, with some middle ground.)

    Its an interesting observation.

Illini is representative of my Alma Mater, and ’07 was the year I created this account. I’m sad to report that I’m not all that creative.

    #1175467

    illini07-

I thought 07 was your graduate year, and assumed you were a young guy (on another thread).

Oh, well – Sherlock stubs his toe.

a gutten vuch everyone btw. A medical professional told me that some religious Jews don’t get enough sunlight due to how much skin they cover up. I don’t know if he said dark colors also, I dont remember if he said dark colors also. However he said it could lead to medical problems not having enough vitamin d. He said it is a myth about sun being dangerous. However, I can’t in this short reply, say all the benefits and precautions. I have this screen name as a sunny reminder for everyone to get more sun, especially in the winter. even though you cant get too much vitamin D in the winter, but still it is good for your mental health too! 🙂

If a person doesn’t have enough vitamin d they can just take a vitamin pill (or chewable)..

    #1175477

xerox said,”If a person doesn’t have enough vitamin d they can just take a vitamin

pill (or chewable)..” while that may or may not be enough. I am sure the Dr. I went to

who is a master nutritionist and expert on health, would have told me to just pop a pill!

However, since we are allowed to go off topic here obviously… 🙂 could someone

tell me, as I am new here, what is the differen’s between the topic page and the forum

    page?

I guess you live in E”Y where the “k” and “c” were not invented yet.

(ex. Eli Haqoen Street and Petah Tiqwe)

Now let’s see who can figure those out!

I always thought the “q” was used to represent the letter “kuf” (as in, the letter after “tzadi”) while “k” or “c” would be used for “cof” (as in, the letter after “yud”). So I’d think “Eli Haquoen Street” and “Qotel” are mistakes, though the other names make sense.

    QUESTION……

How does Joseph hatzadik have time to respond on every thread? I think he posts more than anyone else on this site.

Shouldn’t he be learning instead of being mevatel Torah with all this shtuss?

And if some people are “lucky enough” not to have a TV or care about a TV show, why in the world would he take the time to google it to find out what I was talking about?

    notpashut,

I’m not offended. I just didn’t want you or intellegent to think I’d accuse you of making that up. By the way, intellegent, would you mind if I referred to you as intelligent instead?

    anon for this,

well, I don’t know but I remember looking up places on a map and I don’t think there were any c’s or k’s on the map but maybe I’m mistaken. And those examples are actual signs. It’s really queer (or keer?)

about spelling my name “intelligent” I will have to think about that. The truth is, I get very offended when people spell my name differently but I guess if it really causes you Tza’ar I will try to be mevater.

Mine’s short for Giving Performer, a personality type bestowed on me by an online personality quiz – which is not correct, by the way. I just liked the sound of it. 🙂

    intellegent,

I might be wrong about the spelling on maps. I learned in school that “Q” and “K” were used to represent different Hebrew letters, and have found that transliterations in siddurim and chumashim seem to follow that convention. Apparently maps don’t though.

I’m happy to address you however you prefer. I thought that you’d mentioned misspelling your username when you created it, and I thought you might want to be addressed differently, that’s all.

anon, I do believe that intelligent (oops) was being facetious regarding the spelling of her screen name.

    #1175492

    anon for this,

I think intellegent was sarcastically saying that she’s too intelligent to care whether she’s addressed as intelligent or as intellegent.

    am I correct, intellegent?

Hm. everyone is really confusing me. I’m not even sure what I want anymore.

    Anon,

Thanks for your understanding (if someone spelled their name rivke or Chona or Ezter, that would still be the spelling of their name, no?)

    charlie brown,

That’s not exactly what i meant but I guess it’s true, LOL!

    Joseph,

Wow! You are brilliant! How’d ya know what I meant?!? :-0

intellegent – I undertand your frustration.

a long time ago when I first started posting in the main news site and here in the CR people were referring to me as “Dr.” Levine and it took quite a bit of time and postings to convince people that I am NOT a doctor – finally, I decided it was easier to just open a practice :o)

When I first saw the “e” I assumed that the “e” was intentional and that you were in a sense combining intelligence with the “e”lectronic medium in which we communicate. whatever the reason is, as far as I am concerned you are intellegent and I am still not a doctor (btw, I do not even like it when others capitalize the mdl (or any of the letters) of mdlevine, oh well…

Well, I’ll come outright with this.

I COULD NOT CARE LESS WHAT ANY OF YOU CALL ME!

    I was KIDDING!

mdlevine, (made sure not to capitalize) you really think deeply! I just misspelled it but that is very funny!

    any other comments?

I am feeling very good with all the attention!

    #1175497

I think everyone should call you intell*gent. This way they don’t have to take sides on this important issue.

‘cuz I’m not greasy!!! Isn’t that brilliant?

I hadn’t posted in here until now because I didn’t know why I chose my name. I just made that up now. (Actually, I do know why I chose it originally but it’s not a reason I’m going to publicize).

Wow, I’m on a ROLL today!
