oh thanks ;) i actually hate being in the spotlight.
i wanted something that had something to do with me without it being directly related, like my initials, something more general. this just popped into my head & seemed to describe me in a # of ways. though i didnt come up with it here. i used it for my blog first, then when making a username decided to use it here too.

Joseph, I think you should take the opportunity here to explain your name. Why is it that your name on the board is Joseph and in the URL it's josephf? Do you pronounce the "ph" and then the "f"? Also, why don't you use the more Yeshivish, "Yosef" or "Yossele"

A birth name needs explaining? Its the Anglicized version of my name, although I go by the Jewish version irl. I chose it as a username/login, hence the url.

Joseph, I already gave a number of ex post facto explanations for my screen name. My favorite one is because I'm not greasy. I did drop a hint to the real reason recently, so that I wouldn't be confused with someone named mouse.

The name "Jothar" dates back to my old geeky days of Role Playing games. The full title was "Jothar of the Hill People", no relation to Will Hill or Hill of Beans.
