What's your background and what type of sem/girls are you looking for??
Posted 7 months ago # -
Sharfmans is very hashkafic oriented. I think they tend to get girls from more modern backgrounds who are leaning towards being more yeshivish.

How about Chochmas Lev, Darchei Binah, Meor, Mechllad Esther, Nachlas, Bnos Chavah. Ask people who went to any seminary's and find out info

Me'ohr fits that description, but there are a lot of factors that need to come into account (your background, etc). I'd suggest checking out frumteens.com and looking in the seminary forum. Lots of good info on there. Good luck!

You should look into Bnos Chana Seminary. They have two programs. The first, is Bnos Chana. It is for Bais Yaakov girls who are serious, frum solid girls who want to spend the day focusing on limudei kodesh in a more relaxed environment. The learning is textural but not about translating. Strong emphasis on inspiration and mussar lehaskil.
The second program is called Halichos. It for serious hard working girls who really don't have the money, time or inclination to go to college. They have a good idea of what they want to do in life and have one year to dedicate to training before they go out and do it! They want a strong seminary experience, professional level training and a frum, serious, yet very warm and nurturing environment. Halichos is the answer. Next year they are offering Graphic Design, Interior Design, Cosmetology, and Personal Physical Trainer (in conjuntion with the Wingate Institute). At the end of the year you come out with either a degree, portfolio, or certification depending on what you want to study. It is a great program and you can see more about it including examples of students work in graphics
Which ever program you are interested in Bnos Chana / Halichos is a good place to start looking.Good luck and gmar chasima tova!!!!

Pninim sounds like it might be a good fit for you. I went there a buncha years ago but it definitely was not academic and was very hashkafic. As per the girls, my year we were known as being the most ruachdik but I heard that after that Rabbi Meisels started accepting some "iffy" girls BUT have now heard that he has stopped that and is changing the seminary to be for a good girl, not neccasarily a girl who is "troubled" and that the seminary will try 'fixing'.
I think it is a great seminary though! I still keep up with Rabbi Meisels even though it has been a few years since I've been there.Posted 7 months ago # -
Meor sounds perfect!

thank you soooo much everyone .:)

what do you think of darchei binah?
Posted 5 months ago # -
i personally believe that pninim would fit u well i am currently in pninim and from an inside view the girls are amazing girls rabbi meisels has deffinately become more narrow on who he accepts it is also not academic pninim focuses on hashkafa and life this year they are adding OPTIONAL acedemic classes but not even so much if u wanna know more just ask but i promise it is an amazing school with amazing girls!

MeOhr is pretty academic. I think it's right behind Bnos Chava as far as textual but with a bit more relaxed atmosphere.

gumball- it's spelled LAHAV!
yid2618- gumball is right, it sounds like you are describing Lahav, its in its 2nd year, and it's an amazing program!Posted 5 months ago # -
pninim is a wonderful seminary for a bais yakkov..ayshoshee i wonder what r'simon would say about having talmodos on the internet
Posted 4 months ago # -
and what do you think about binas bais yaakov1
Posted 4 months ago # -
lemaysa im using the schools internet that they provide for us with a limited amount of sites approved and not blocked most are blocked from k9
Posted 4 months ago # -
i think it says alot about a place that lets their students have any connection to the internet even if its "blocked" weres the yiras shamayim
Posted 4 months ago # -
u say that but u r on the internet urself???
Posted 4 months ago # -
ayshoshee- she/he meant that the fact that the internet is blocked shows that the seminary doesnt have faith that the girls will surf the web appropriately.

yid2618 - My sister's friend went to Ateres. It's a bais yaakov type school, but it's not too academic or hashkafik. It has very good girls. I think it's between seminar and pninim.
Posted 4 months ago # -
meohr might be the kind of place for you, its a very learning and growth oriented seminary, but not so much academic. they are more than willing to work with the girls and provide free tutoring for when needed.
lemaysa-as for locked internet in seminaries i HOPE that you have a blocked internet yourself, i know i got k9 for my personal home computer, because NO ONE is above it! no one should be able to trust themselves enough that they would be stupid to allow unblocked internet in their homes. seminaries realize they would like to provide email for students, but its easy for anyone to make a mistake, and thats not why girls are in israel, so they block it!Posted 4 months ago # -
I think Ateres is a very frum seminary for very yeshivishe girls if that's what you're looking for and the type of girl that you are. They are not focused on academics the way some other seminaries like BJJ are.

lemaysa- thats a little strong, it sounds like ur attacking p'ninim for a complete baseless reason! this might not have been your intention but you sounded very hypocritical and ridiculous.
yid2618- like others had said it really depends on more information than you gave, so only you can know if you dont say any other specifics but from what i know p'niim sounds like a good place for you. Over the past few years they have been getting really good girls and all the classes are surounded around hashkafa, and they have great trips, and really warm and caring teachers!Posted 4 months ago # -
lemaysa and if they didnt have blocked internet u would have something against the fact that girls could do anything
happym19 is very correct on what theyare saying
