    Hi all

I’m in my late 20s and am hoping iyh to go to seminary in Israel for a year. I want to do some full time learning, and this may be my only chance to do so – maybe. There’s the issue of money which is holding me back. There are tons of scholarships and tuition fee payment plans which is great, so I’m not worried there. I’m worried because I still have some debts to pay off which won’t be paid off by September, which is when I hope to start sem. The only way for me to deal with this is either to stay where I am in my boring job and not go or to ‘just go’ to Israel (as everyone keeps saying) and hope that I will get a part time job. I am worried that even if I get a job in Israel the pay will not be sufficient to cover my living costs and pay off my debts. Should I make the hishtadlus to try and arrange a part time job before I go and hope for the best, or should I stop dreaming and get on with the reality of my boring 9-5 legal job?

If you are in a legal job, boring or not, I imagine it pays fairly well, and if it doesn’t, then maybe you should look elsewhere. I am not sure why you feel the need at this point to spend a year in Israel to learn, but you can also learn here, keep your job and still enhance your knowledge even if it isn’t full time. If you are really that interested in learning, a 9-5 job gives you plenty of evening time to study. To me, it doesn’t sound it’s worth upending your life, journeying into uncertainty that could easily distract you from your purpose for going. But may I ask, why is this your deam at this point in your life?
