I always leave my hat on top of the sforim shrank, so it wont get smushed, c”v. but l’maisa, last night it fell cuz i left it on a shaky spot and i was m’ayin and it got a huge dent. I tried fixing it but i wasnt matzliach, theres still a crease.

does anyone have a y’dia about this, if epes theres a way to fix it like totally? it poshut doesnt look shabbosdik with this crease in the front. i heard someone say to use steam, does that work b’emes? if i hold my hat over the tchienik when its all steamy, will it take out the crease?

I can’t decide if you are trolling or entertaining, but for as long as you aren’t insulting, the floor is yours.

I agree with the moderator’s comment on the opening post.

That said, why not take it to the shop where you bought the hat. You are not the first guy who has wanted his damaged hat fixed.

shkoyach mr moderator. b’emes im stam a guy trying to bring a shtickle simcha to the oilam, and efshar a laugh or a krechtz.

huju thats gevaldig to hear, but lmaisa the store i was koineh my hat from was shut down, they ran out of rabbit fur. I hear theres talk with them being mishtatef with a cat grooming place, but they were having tzaros getting the cat fur to become a briah chadasha, and with the whiskers and scratching and that whole megilla, it pashut wasnt a good matziv.

Maybe it’s all the Yiddish. I need a translator for half of it.

Meanwhile, I never knew that hats can crease. I just figured they were sturdy enough to take a fall. If anything, they could pop back out.

It’s interesting to hear about guy problems. I’ve read threads about sheitel issues. Maybe some guys have kippah issues. Now I know that there are hat dilemmas too.

LB, It may come as a surprise to you, but I seem to remember that non-females tread the earth too. In fact some of those creatures frequent (or USED to frequent) this site. Until it was taken over by {Seminary I, Seminary II, Seminary III, Seminary XXII, Nail Polish, Tznius, Hair Length}. I suppose some of those non-female creatures were waiting for a chance. Remember, they only get a tenth… edgewise.

fyi the OP was writing in a language called Yeshivish Shprach. Maybe giggle it.

Oh thank you LF. That’s a new dialect to me.

I shall Giggle it indeed 🙂

Well yes I am aware of non-female posts. The politics threads don’t interest me. So yea… this one is all fancy and new

LF- there are plenty of male-dominated threads on politics. Those are the ones I basically stay away for lack of both interest and knowledge. Why don’t you join those? There are plenty of Martians there – way more than one-tenth.

Shloimel, you take the book “Frumspeak: The First Dictionary of Yeshivish”, and smash the hat with it until it’s completely unwearable.

After that, you go to Hat Box and buy a new hat.

LuL: I’m not into politics either. And polotics is not a male thingy. Lately there has been some female who tried to get into the white house. I suppose that was female in politics. (unless she wanted to sneak in)

Shloimel, you’ve takah got a emmese shvere matzev there. Ober mistomeh, you’ve got a bochur in your chabura who’s got yedios in this inyan. He’s the tipp that skips part of night seder (I know it’s hard to be mekabel, but they were meya’etz by the mashgiach (zol er zein gezunt) and his Rebbi, and lemaaseh bshaas hadchak it’s ok bedieved) to use a chainik in his room. He’ll know how to mesaken your Bors (of course you’ve got one, if you use such yeshivishe raid), and it will be a matzav of machzir atoro leyoishno.

If you post your mamme’s name, I’ll be machaven for you by ‘hachazirainu bekova shelaimo lefonecho’

LF – yeah, but that was unusual. There hasn’t been a female president yet.

I hadn’t meant it that way – I was just referring to the CR where the politic threads seem to be very male-centered – but now that I think about it, I think politics is generally more of a guy thing.

But that doesn’t mean that all men have to be into it. Just like I can be into a lot of things that girls usually aren’t.

I stopped opening politics’ threads because of the bashing.

Why, is it worse in the politics’ threads? I can’t read them because I have no interest, so I wouldn’t know. I would think that politics would be less personal.

Instead of bashing each other directly they bash indirectly through the candidates.

Imho the political threads have more misogyny and less inhibitions

“Instead of bashing each other directly they bash indirectly through the candidates.”

    That sounds better to me.

“Imho the political threads have more misogyny and less inhibitions”

Doesn’t misogyny mean anti-female? And aren’t there few women on those threads? So how could there be misogyny?

[Part of this post was removed to protect the future from the past.]

Have you never been in a situation where someone spills words in the room and things just get tense? That’s happened to me before. I didn’t invite it, feed it, or want it but it just came in there and the best thing to do was just leave.

    Hence, walking away from threads.

Shloimel-Go into any hat store and ask where can you get your hat re-blocked. If you want you can go on You Tube see how it is done, should you want to do it yourself.
