Do you ever hear these guys who do the whole shema shema shemaa shemaang ggg Yisroooeeeeeel thing...Its like, dude...is that OCD?

Its a mitzvah to say every word clearly and the shvah nah and shva nachs...but whats with the repetition? And if its an issue of making sure to say it correctly then why do some of the words need to sound so different? Its Shema not Shhmaannnng!

Also, there is an inyan to articulate the z in Tizkiru, it does not need to sound like a shaver.

    Whats the deal?

Say my name 6 times fast. cmon. TRY IT

Acording to the steipler its a mentel ilness (OCD I geuss) as is the case with going overboard with any part of yiddishkeit (e.i. washig your hands repeadiatly).

What's the point of this thread? To make fun of people who mean things lshem shomayim? So they come across funny. But they're good, ehrliche people.

wag - You are correct that it should be only said once not repeatedly, and if done more than once its called OCD, However kriyas shema is a dioraysa, and its very important to get the correct pronounciation of every single word, Now there are words that are easier and less complex to pronounce than others. Shema for example, there is no "nun" or "gimmel" in it however when you prononuce the "ayin" corectly it sounds like shemang. The same applies to Tizkiru there is a stress on the zayin so it sound like tizskiru. I agree that there is no need to go overboard.
