Glad to be of service. Care to share the song? These words have special significance to me.

All rise in honor of General Shmooze 2. (General Snooze?) Will someone please recite some words?

(Joke that fits in here: A group of people were at the funeral of a man who the whole town hated. Someone got up and said no one would leave until someone came up and said something good about the deceased. After an hour of everyone sitting, one kind man got up and walks up to the podium. “His brother was worse.”)

wht i ment was tht the schools r taking regents very seriously its just tht the students see no need of having them so they take it lightly

Yes, according to several reports, his ex-wife is Jewish and their son is a chareidi rabbi in EY.

Shmooze? In our circle, we say “whats the hock?” or my favorite, vus-i-neiyez? (not 3 separate words, and surely not VOS.. nothing stamps you an out-of-towner faster than THAT).

    Nee? Vusineiyez?

reminds me of a joke i heard.

The president wanted to know how jews know everything so fast. His advisor says- its because they go around and say “vus titsach” (“vusineiyez” works too) to everyone and thats how news travels around. So the prez decides secretly to dress like a Jew and go to brooklyn (sorry out of towners but thats how the joke went) and go around saying it to Jewish ppl so he can find out news. Sure enough he gets off the plane and asks the first jewish guy he sees “nu vus titsach”. The guy whispers back “THE PRESIDENT IS IN BROOKLYN!!!”

LOL, Blink but its yeneh g’lechter (means: no joke, for the english speaking crowd.)

We do have a way of keeping our hands on the pulse / a sixth sense that defies the outside world. I remember a few years back there was a group under federal investigation in BP and one Friday, in walks a person to the mikvah which normally a chatterbox. Somehow, we all sensed that this newcomer is not a tribe member, and you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. Not so much in what he said, but the way he said it, and the way he carried himself.

We just felt something off (and never saw him again after that)

BP Totty, I heard a similar story (may be apocryphal, but I doubt it) where the feds were dressed (i.e. not in a mikveh, hehe) as Chassidim but couldn’t get anyone to gossip with them. Unfortunately, they had curled their peyos counter-clockwise.

The other time I know that happened (not the peyos per se) was during the Yossel Schumacher affair. The Mossad tried to pick up leads in Mea Shearim, but made some glaring errors which outed them like a “yovon in em sikkah” (read: a greek in the sukkah)

The NY times had a review of the new Lotus.. its only $80,000, but turns heads like a Mas or Ferrarri. Hows that for Neis!

Imagine being the 1st BP hocker to tear down the avenue (lights and sirens, of course) in one of those!

Tear down the avenue how fast? 62 or less I hope.

In BP? The best you can hope for is 40 mph. But oh, what a sight to see.. and the joy in brings to the little BPers, when Volvie or Chaim Meir or Heshy (Yoily is on a call in Willy, so it cant be him) goes flying down the block, in his shiny new Lotus! (And yes, I am deadly jealous, me in my ho-hum Oddessy)
