    Is there a lack of shtenders? There is one in my boys room closet, I tried to get rid of it, but didn’t succeed.

    When you don’t have a shtender and you place a sefer on a table, you bend over to read the words and that’s bad for your back.

    Why should this be an issue? If he is standing let him hold the sefer, or let him sit.

    Read about what Reb Moshe ZT”L said about shtenders in Tiferes Yerushalayim. He was very much against them.
