“As far as comparing. Allow me to just quote the Talmud and should answer all:

    אין אפוטרופוס לעריות”

    Gaon +1!

Waze is also dangerous. It needs to be used properly like anything. Don’t drive of cliffs, or into construction sites.

Especially in Israel, it’s not so well known but waze doesn’t actually know if you are a JEW or ARAB, so I and multiple people I know have by mistake driven into Arab cities, villages, and places. You need to be very viligant. Safe driving!

Its like anything else, People lived perfectly fine with Kerosene lamps and outhouses for thousands of years, but I dont think anyone wants to go back to those things

Waze tells you about real time traffic and dangers in the road (Like Potholes and shredded tires). a Garman GPS doesnt do that.

I probably use it more for the traffic help than directions.

As far as GPS’s in Israel (I used a regular GPS not Waze) , it would not take me to the territories, it kept telling me to go back via another way. In fact it had me going from Jerusalem to Masada without crossing the Green Line (As opposed to the direct way via Jericho)

I started using Waze for this reason as I thought it would be helpful. Over about a month of use I could not find one instance in which the warnings were actually helpful. I just found it to be irritating and cluttered.

The worst is when people report potholes on the BQE. I could be sitting in California and tell you that there are potholes on the BQE.

There were a few times We found it humorous , like when it annouced road kill ahead,

But it really does help when you are stuck in traffic and want to know how far the traffic jam is going, Doesnt help when I am in the middle of nowhere, but it does help around the city when I can take shortcuts around it
