Anticipation as we make our way

To the hall on this special day

The excitement, we’re feeling in the air,

    The special moment’s drawing near.

    And we are hoping

    Our friends and family

Will be coming for us to see,

    Yes, the mitzvah

    Of bringing joy is great,

Let’s be on time and not be late.

    Chorus:

We will dance to the music as we show our hearts as one,

We will sing with emotion, life and joy and fun,

Join and clap to the beat and feel the rhythm

    Oh, so strong,

Capture the meaning of the simcha song.

And we have waited for this to come at last,

Can’t imagine how much time has past,

It’s so clear now, a mitzvah reverie,

This simcha’s truly meant to be.

    Keitzad merakdim, lifnei hakallah,

    Kallah no’eh bachasuda,

    Asher bara sasson ve’simcha

    Oid yishama v’yarei yehuda….

    Chorus:

Kay im not 100% sure but i think thats basically it 🙂

Anyone know the lyrics to the end of the song “I am a mountain so very high! I can reach way up to the sky! The torah should be given on me! Cuz i am as tall as can be! You see!”

“I am a mountain, so very high, I can reach way up to the sky, the Torah should be given on me, ’cause I am as tall as can be, you see.”

    “Oh, no! –

I am much taller than you, and there are so many things I can do, the Torah should be given on me, ’cause I am as great as can be.”

The little Har Sinai just stood there and sighed, “I know I’m not tall, I know I’m not wide, the Torah can’t be given on me, ’cause I’m a plain mountain”, he said, simply.

From all the mountains, Hashem chose Sinai, because he did not hold himself high, he had such simple and humble ways, and from this we learn that humbleness pays.

Is that from shabsi? Or The simcha machine?

Neither. I believe it’s from I Hear a Mitzvah, the second Mitzvah Tree record.

By the HASC Concert 24, in the finale, Avraham Fried sings a song with the following words:

Some people say the world has gone mad, evil has stolen the day.

There is so much we can do to make this world a kinder, better, happier place.

Anyone know what song this is and where I can find it (album)?

    kapusta, illuminate the night is…

    A. The missing words (in place of *something* day to night)

    B. The name of the song

    C. The name of the album

And yes, the song is stuck in my head as well!

    Thanks!

    Just found this:

After “sitting around” for a while, a song about 9/11 composed by music superstar Avraham Fried has been released.

    By COLlive reporter

Jewish music superstar Avraham Fried has commemorated the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks with releasing a preview of a new song in solidarity to the families of the victims.

The song, which Fried composed, was originally meant to be included in his latest album, but plans fell through and instead it was presented at a recent HASC concert and was arranged by Yisroel Lamm.

“I felt it was important to write something positive,” Fried told COLlive.com. “If 19 people can create so much negativity, imagine what we all can do to change the world for the better.”

He said the song has been “sitting around” for a while, and he plans to rerecord it for an upcoming English-Yiddish album.

“After tragic events the Lubavitcher Rebbe always encouraged Jewish people to look for that glimmer of light and hope and make the correct conclusion,” Fried told music site Shlager.net which posted the recording this week.

“That is what the song is actually about. One day in September changed our lives. It was no doubt a day of blinding darkness, however, we have the power to dispel it. It is in our hands,” Fried said.

    LYRICS:

Some people say the world has gone mad

    Evil has stolen the day

Some people say ‘Just throw in the towel’

    I don’t feel that way

‘Cuz every good deed that you do

And every kind word that you say, has a way,

has a way to change the world

    Chorus:

There is so much we can do to make this world,

    A kinder better happier place

There is so much we can do to change the world

    Let’s change the world today

That day in September changed our lives

    The darkest day by far

Oh, they broke our heart but woke up our soul

We’ll show them who we are

‘Cuz we are towers of light

And we have the power to do what is right

    Let’s illuminate the night

    Chorus

Don’t need a reason or season my friend

You don’t need fortune or fame

Go out of your way, make someone’s day

Now that’s the name of the game

‘Cuz we are towers of light

And we have the power to do what is right

    Let’s illuminate the night

    Chorus

Some comments on this post say that this song is an old camp song (Camp Emunah)

Was the song ever released on an album?

Also, Avraham Fried sang a song about playing with fire, how your soul is a heavenly fire. Was it ever recorded for an album?

playing with fire, how your soul is a heavenly fire

Don’t play with souls, or you could accidentally burn down your house? 🙂

Lyrics to Playing with Fire performed by Avraham Fried joined by Bentzi & Shmuel Marcus (8th Day) at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills concert 2008

There’s a place in your heart deep within

    known as the Kodesh HaKodoshim

    There’s an alter there

    With a heavenly fire burning

    That’s why you’re always yearning

    That’s why you’re always yearning

This fire takes you higher if you

    let it burn

    Inspire your desire to

    live and learn

    If you ignore it

    and don’t absorb it

    brother, your playing with fire

    Your heavenly fire

Its there to take you higher

    and higher

    and higher

    and higher

This fire takes you higher if you

    let it burn

    Inspire your desire to

    live and learn

    If you ignore it

    and don’t absorb it

    brother, your playing with fire

    Your heavenly fire

Its there to take you higher

Learning Torah, lights the flame, watch it glow

Come in out of the dark, lights the spark, watch it glow

A Mitzvah too has the power to ignite

    Your soul down deep inside

    Your soul down deep inside

Beneath the light, in a room, oh so dark

Don’t look too far, know right there, in your heart

There’s an alter there with a heavenly fire burning

    That’s why your always yearning

    That’s why your always yearning

This fire takes you higher if you

    let it burn

    Inspire your desire to

    live and learn

    If you ignore it

    and don’t absorb it

    brother, your playing with fire

    Your heavenly fire

Its there to take you higher

    and higher

    and higher

    and higher

This fire takes you higher if you

    let it burn

    Inspire your desire to

    live and learn

    If you ignore it

    and don’t absorb it

    brother, your playing with fire

    Your heavenly fire

Its there to take you higher

There’s a place in your heart deep within

    known as the Kodesh HaKodoshim

There’s an alter there with a heavenly fire burning

    That’s why your always yearning

    That’s why we’re all returning

You can watch it on YouTube

Also, Avraham Fried sang a song about playing with fire, how your soul is a heavenly fire. Was it ever recorded for an album?

Playing with Fire has been recorded and released (song 7) on Avraham Fried’s latest album, Bring The House Down.

Fried writes in the album booklet:

To all those who have been asking and waiting patiently for this song, here it is. Let your heavenly fire keep you warm. Share the warmth with others.

The third post in the thread “Favorite lines from any song” is as follows:
tho storms and winds may come, i will bend but never break.
Does anyone here know what song it’s from? (Google doesn’t.)

    #1876803

    Bump.

    #2054609

The 8th post in that thread is “The earth was freshly painted but the sky was feeling blue,”
which also returns no Google results.

    #2054629

I’ve been told they’re from “Little Tree” (Abie Rottenberg, Journeys 4) and “My Fellow Jew” (Avraham Fried).
