The Gemara in Sotah 16 has a discussion about the dirt that is in the Sotah water. This is the water that she drinks.
I was thinking about what symbolism is contained in this. I got the idea that this refers back to the nachash hakadmon, the snake in Gan Eden. He was a sneaky character who lied and cheated. In the end he was cursed to crawl on his belly and eat dirt. The Sotah also sneaked around. Included in her punishment is also to eat (or drink) dirt. I can’t think of what similarity is there with their cursed bellies.

I’m not up to 16 yet. Finished first perek this morning.
Everything we eat is from the dirt except it has been purified by plants and animals, the sotah has abnegated her right to this maalyusah.
Not stam dirt, Maybe the Bracha comes from the dirt.
