On YWNCR, I may occasionally be careless about grammar or punctuation, but never spelling.

This is very embarrassing as I have not misspelled anything (excluding typos) for several years, and now I can’t say that anymore, so this will make me more humble about it.

Gov. Elliot Spitzer makes frequent spelling errors in his quick-paced e-mails. And he is a lawyer and former Governor of New York. And you are concerned about this on a read-and-reply online forum?

Torah613, Really, you are kidding, right?

Such an abject, humbling apology for a spelling mistake?!

Somehow I cannot seem to get my feathers ruffled as much as other posters over grammar & spelling. Even though I do enjoy pointing out the most egregious and/or humorous errors. For which, I might add, I get precious little thanks.

What does irk me a bit is the fact that your name uses “Torah” with a lower case “t”.

    Care to change?

Facetious: Well, when you pride yourself on something, however unimportant, and then make a mistake, it is a good opportunity to test yourself. Apologizing humbly is fun; it makes other people feel good and doesn’t bother me.

golfer: Your name is golfer with a lowercase “g”. The question in my head was whether it refers to The Torah as a proper noun, or torah as in teachings. The 613 makes it pretty clear on which it is so you’re right.

The question to me was, would my posts be as interesting if I had a boring username? And torah613613torah looks as boring and typical as anyone could wish for. I want to be boring and typical, except when I want to be interesting and special. So let me ramble on a bit longer and maybe it will get changed some day.

I think I have your disease…I am emotionally unable to spell spell words wrong……ever. I can look at a word and see in less than half a second if it isn’t spelled right. If I can’t spell a word I either don’t write it or look up the spelling. Even handwritten things no one will ever see.

    ZABACHUR: You get it.

Loca: I like to spell things right and have fun at the same time. No contradiction there.

    And

WIY: Nope, not such a perfectionist, but I always won spelling bees.

I see many mentions of snort but none that describe it as a short snail. And might I propose a new one, shorts designed for a snail: snorts. More research needs to be done on the target market but I think I might have something here (patent pending, so don’t even think about it oneofmany)

There seems to be one in the coffeeroom currently lol. Besides not sure you can copyright a definition. You can’t stop people from using a real word.

Hmmm oppositional defiance disorder…one of personal favorites…a name given to a feeling that every single human being has.
