Tired of putting endless hours and untold effort into baking challah – only to end up with clumsily braided bricks with underdone centers? Well, good news: Devorah Heller, known to her many devoted fans as “the Challah lady,” will share her recipe for “No Fail Challah” 11:30 Monday morning at Pomegranate.
Mrs. Heller’s step-by-step challah tutorial is presented as part of Pomegranate’s “Cooking with Class” series of cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs. The demonstrations have become extremely popular with Pomegranate customers, says general manager Gabe Boxer, noting that the store is also currently hosting a four-part series on fish with noted cookbook author Susie Fishbein.
“These cooking demos are very much in keeping with our store’s mission – to help make our customers lives a little better, a little easier,” Gabe explains. And tomorrow’s challah class, he says, is no exception.
“We know that a lot of women are planning their Purim seudahs right now—and many of them would love to put a perfect challah on the table.
“Together with Devorah Heller—we’ll help them accomplish that goal.”
