Shabbos is a treasure. For a 100,000 dollars, would you stop texting on Shabbos? A million? A billion? Those numbers are pittances compared to the value of Shabbos. I'm a lot older than you (probably older than your parents, even) and I can tell you there is nothing like Shabbos, when the necessary drudgery and exposure to the world of tumah drops away for one day, and we are kings in our households, serving H-shem, reveling in the kedusha of Shabbos.Posted 6 years ago # -

that's like asking "if i would give you a million bucks would you learn three sedarim a day?"
yeah i got the shmooze that five minute of learning is "gan eiden" and "olam haba" and all. that forced five minutes made me so sick i couldn't look at the guy again.
and by the way, i don't see any kedusha on shabbos. the world is what it is. yeah, if you stay in your sheltered home you may never see tumah. nothing to do with shabbos.

- No, knowing that no matter what crisis may crop up at work, you will not be disturbed and your Shabbos will retain its kedusha and tranquility is entirely different than just closing you doors and taking your phone off the hook. ICOT, i guess i'm so different i can't relate.
BasYisroel2, i should make it clear that i can't put any blame on my parents at all. nothing i say or do is their fault. it wouldn't be fair for me to give that impression. i know guys (and even more so, girls) who hate their parents and curse then out. i really can't say i relate to them in any way. (maybe i understand them, but not from any of my own experiences - just from watching. thank god!)
my house looks like any other. why would i wanna go to a stranger's if i could just go downstairs?

The point is to get out a bit more to go to other people that might be more of your speed.Perhaps it would be agood idea to go someone's house who went through the same things that you are going through or felt the same way you feel!
Stayed locked in your room is not the way to go about living your life!
If you feel fustrated or upset do something about it(that is not harmful to yourself or others)!
Maybe you are burnt out and need a vacation!
